-Kris & Mak-
Yarrow Nursery is owned by partners Mak and Kris Bryan-Kjaer.
Mak, a second generation nursery owner, and Kris, a Norwegian from Oslo, met in France in 2007 while studying abroad. They lived in Oslo for 7 years together before moving (back) to the Bay Area to be closer to family. Kris (MSc in Int. Business & Politics) has a professional background in sustainability consulting and music venue operations, and Mak (MA in Political Economy) is a data analyst with a passion for plants and the environment. They have two young daughters and live in the East Bay.
Kris is the day-to-day managing owner of both Yarrow Nursery and Broadway Terrace Nursery. She is the buyer of outdoor plants for both locations, manages the crew and oversees operations.
As owners we are passionate about plants, planet and people. We work hard to make sure that our business is a place where everyone feels welcome, where we emphasize sustainability in everything we do and where customer service and excellent product quality remains at the core.

Inequality and lack of access to an acceptable standard of living is a sad reality for many living in the Bay Area.
